Solitaire is the only reason to own a computer.

If you are not over the age of 65, you may have no idea how owning a computer only for solitaire alone can be possible. Well it is possible and I have met the people who deem it so.

Mostly the people who fall into this category are older and have been given a computer by their families in an attempt to get them to use email and search the web for things. These people would never have gotten a computer or the internet if it were not for those pesky kids (and their dumb dog?) who think they would be better off with this hunk of technology in their home. Forget the fact that they need detailed instructions just to turn the thing on.

The only reason I know about these people is because, typically, the family who buys the technology do not live anywhere close. So they have to call the local IT shop to do most anything on the computer.

As for the lesson of the day. It is almost a direct quote from several older users who told me that they mainly play solitaire on their computer and not much else.
